Spring Announcements
It’s time again for the Cincinnati Guitar Show on Sunday, April 3rd. We have had a
wonderful year at The Tube Amp Factory as we continue to produce and improve our
line of guitar amps and speaker cabinets. We now have an authorized distributor in
the Southeastern US. Mr. Randy Stephens is a professional blues guitarist from
Columbia, TN, just outside of Nashville. Our listings with www.backpage.com,
www.craigslist.org and www.thefind.com have generated a lot of interest outside
the central Ohio area. There are now some great high quality recordings on the web site of Randy
demonstrating the sounds of Tube Amp Factory products.
If you’ve visited www.tubeampfactory.com lately, you may have noticed that all of our
amplifiers have been upgraded to higher power outputs in the last few months. A new
power supply design and an improved custom power transformer have made a big
difference in our amplifier performance. Our push-pull class AB1 6L6GC amp now
delivers a solid, clean 35 watts, making it a real gig worthy system component. We have
also built several 2 X 12 cabinets to handle the extra power from the new FB-10B.
One of the most common questions I get as people review our web site is “how can
you make these amps so cheaply?” Some folks have hinted that I must be using low
grade components to keep costs down. Actually I am using the same sorts of top quality
components that I use in my industrial electronics companies. Buying in volume is
the only way I am cutting any costs. The fact is that the newest improvements are
driving my costs up and price increases are coming soon to make up for it. I still have
an objective to make good tube guitar amplifiers to sell at prices the average musician
can afford. Great tone and quality music should not be just for a privileged few. As my
demand is picking up my personal workload is getting to the point where I will be getting
some help in the hand wiring and construction of our amplifiers. Most people won’t
work as cheaply as yours truly. But then I really love to build amplifiers.
My present pricing structure will still be in place for the Cincinnati show but will
definitely need to change by mid-Summer this year. We also plan to demonstrate a new
Tube Amp Factory exclusive feature at the show, so please stop in and see us if you are
able to attend.
Best wishes to all for a great spring and summer season,
Dave Harris
